Once calm was restored after the hurricane, we had a few day sails interspersed with maintenance work and also made time to visit Astros, where we stayed in the harbour for a few days. It was great to be hooked up to water and power for the first time in a couple of months. Astros is a very picturesque little town and we enjoyed walking around the cobbled lanes. We also walked up to the ruined castle of Paralio Astros which was built in the mid-13th century. It's fairly extensive and has great views of the surrounding countryside, which is surprisingly green.

We returned to Porto Heli for a few nights before heading to Poros and then Aigina, where we spent nearly a week on the town quay continuing work on our never ending maintenance list, which seems to grow longer each year. We then motored a few miles to the top of the island to Mistroma's winter home, where we were lifted on to the hard and after the hull was pressure-washed, the boat was moved into her final position, slotted in between other boats with less than an inch between us and next door. This certainly did not make it very easy to do the washing and polishing, but the local neighbourhood cat loved it as she could jump from boat to boat and do a complete circuit of the yard, without her feet ever touching the ground. Work continued all day every day and when the clocks changed we remained on Greek summer time to give us more daylight!

Finally we were finished and got a ferry back to Athens, where we stayed the night in a hotel before flying back to Edinburgh at the end an eventful season. We've really enjoyed catching up with old friends and meeting new ones and have had some wonderful sails but also a lot of strong winds. We're looking forward to starting all over again next year.
