While in Vlycho we had a spectacular thunder & lighting storm which started about 02:00 with the wind gusting 40-50kts. We wrestled with the awning during the worst of it and managed to get it put away and adjourned below, soaked to the skin. Over the next few hours the wind died and we were able to take a dinghy trip up to town in the morning for some much needed supplies. The weather had improved considerably and allowed a pleasant short sail to an overnight anchorage South of the Levkas canal.

The following day we motored back up to Preveza, but decided against going on to the town quay for a couple of days as the wind was forecast to be blowing quite strongly onshore. We anchored off Ionian Marine where we are wintering Mistroma and carried on with more maintenance, before going over to the quay for the final few days before our lift out. Not much happens at this time of the season except work all day every day until our departure date. Our lift out went without any hitches, but the fouling on the hull is the worst we have ever seen on the boat. The antifouling we applied at the beginning of the season certainly did not do its job.

The weather has warmed up again over the last two weeks and we are now back up in the mid to high 20's every day. It's going to be bit of shock to the system to return to single figures once we fly back to Scotland. This yard is way better than where we stayed last year but the mosquitos are dreadful; it's the first time ever that we've had to use repellent during the day as well as in the evening. We both had more bites over the last week than the whole of the rest of the season. Let's hope that by the time we come back in April something will have been done about them!

Although we've had quite a few problems this year, we have thoroughly enjoyed the season, had a lot of excellent sails and enjoyed meeting up with lots of old friends. Roll on next year!
